Mar-Pro Retail Championship Challenge at WorldFood Moscow 2019

The Mar-Pro Retail Championship Challenge comes to WorldFood Moscow this year.

Mar-Pro is a strategic business game where entrants gain experience in managing retail networks and a food & drink manufacturer.

This is a unique chance to increase a company’s competitive advantage, as well as gain experience in creating mutually beneficial relationships between suppliers and stockists.
In 2019, the Mar-Pro Challenge Championship Winners Ceremony will be held as part of WorldFood Moscow.

The contest itself will take place in the Mar-Pro business simulation digital environment, where several teams will be competing on the virtual market.

Teams play as either retailers or manufacturers. Contest entrants negotiate with other teams, enter into contracts, and make decisions on 4P management and brand development too. The simulator then shows how contestants’ decisions affect market performance and behaviour, as well as company profit and loss.

Over a hundred retail and FMCG market professionals from around the world have completed the Mar-Pro challenge. Under its auspices, Mar-Pro entrants have studied the difference between retailers’ and manufacturers’ business models, ways to create additional value for each model, and learnt how to make better deals.

Mar-Pro Retail Championship Challenge Programme

Key dates for the Championship are outlined below:
  • August 15 – September 1 – Team applications are received
  • September 2-6 – First round, played by 16 teams. 8 teams advance to second stage.
  • September 9-13 – Second round, played by 8 teams. 4 winners compete in the final.
  • September 16-20 – Final
  • September 24 - Mar-Pro Retail Championship Challenge winners announced at WorldFood Moscow
  • September 27 – Winners’ trophies presented at WorldFood Moscow 2019 in Pavilion 3, Hall 15, Big Hall)
